People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Анна, оффтоп:) Я где-то видела план родов твоих. Можешь поделиться, он был где-то в комментах, боюсь не найти. Подруга будет в штатах рожать скоро:)

Пожалуйста!

Our Wishes for the Birth of our Baby
Anna Egorova and Vladimir Miloslavskiy
• We would like to be together during the labor process at all times. We would like to have our doula Mary Healy with us during birth and help us with breathing and positions during labor. Other than two of us, our midwife, nurses responsible for Anna and the baby and the doula we prefer not to have people in the delivery room (such as students, other doctors or nurses) unless absolutely medically necessary for Anna or the baby
• I hope to be as mobile as possible during early labor as long as birth progresses normally
• I would like to be able to take small snacks during early labor to keep up my energy as long as birth progresses normally
• I hope to deliver as naturally as possible without the use of any medications such as induction, epidural etc. as long as birth progresses normally. Regarding pain management, we have studied and understand the types of pain medications available. I’m going to try various breathing and relaxation techniques. Please don’t offer pain medication – I will ask it if I need it. I only want other medications and IV fluids if absolutely necessary for me or for our baby
• I would like to have continuous fetal monitoring only if absolutely crucial for the welfare of our baby. If the baby if not in distress, I would like to have the fetal monitoring only intermittently to be able to change positions, stand and walk
• I would appreciate guidance in when to push and when to stop pushing and explanations of anything that is going on at the moment
• We would like Vladimir to cut the cord if possible
• We plan to keep the baby near us right after birth. We would appreciate the evaluation of the baby be done in the same room after we have the opportunity to hold the baby, unless there is an unusual situation or the baby is not doing well. Please delay giving the eye drops to the baby until we both hold her
• I plan to try to breastfeed as soon as possible after birth
• We plan to room in with the baby 24/7 and breastfeed exclusively. We will ask for help of the nurses in newborn nursery if we need some relief during the hospital stay
If a cesarean becomes necessary
• I would like to use epidural or spinal anesthesia if possible
• We would like to be able to hold the baby in the OR as long as the baby is doing okay
• I would like to try to breastfeed in the recovery room as long as we are both doing okay
In case of an emergency
I would like my partner and father of the baby Vladimir to stay with me in case of the emergency and make decisions for me and our baby if I cannot do so.
